AIPI supports business growth through various activities by organizing match making, study tours and several other activities where businesses get opportunities to conduct B2B meetings. The Rwandan ecosystem offers an entry point for German companies who want to explore new market opportunities in Rwanda and in the continent as a whole. This applies to Rwandan companies who want to export their solution on the European market, using Germany as an entry point. In addition, we facilitate German and Rwandan companies who want to create long-lasting partnerships and exchange knowledge with the goal of generating potential business opportunities that benefit both Rwandan and German ICT ecosystems. Despite this we offer several trainings and certification opportunities for Rwandan companies.

For Vulnerable Communities

AIPI offers a dynamic platform for vulnerable individuals to flourish, providing various opportunities such as job opportunities and specialized training. Vulnerable groups, disadvantaged individuals, including women, refugees, and those who often face significant challenges in accessing the job market, can benefit from growth support and training to bring their innovative ideas to life through the “Tech Upskill” program. Additionally, through those opportunities, participants gain valuable practical experience from the training that supports them getting jobs. This project aims to empower them by offering the skills and support needed to create a more inclusive, skilled workforce by equipping them with relevant ICT skills, the program helps build a foundation for sustainable careers within the sector.

TRAINING AND MENTORSHIP

  • Digital Literacy At AIPI FOR ALL, we are committed to empowering vulnerable individuals and communities by enhancing their digital literacy skills. Our training programs bridge the digital divide, enabling participants to effectively utilize digital technologies for everyday life and personal growth. Whether it's accessing essential services online, enhancing communication, or managing personal finances, digital literacy is the foundation for meaningful participation in today’s technology-driven world. Our mission is to ensure that every individual, regardless of their background, has the tools and knowledge to improve their lives through digital resources. Our education and training programs provide tailored support to help vulnerable groups build strong digital skills. We begin with foundational Digital Literacy training, where participants learn how to use various digital tools for communication, information access, and problem-solving. Once they have a basic understanding, they can specialize in one of four key areas: Website Development (IT), Digital Crafting (handmade goods), e-Commerce (focused on crafts and agriculture), or Software Testing (IT). These advanced tracks offer marketable skills that can open doors to new career opportunities and economic self-sufficiency. Through these digital literacy programs, we empower vulnerable communities to take charge of their digital futures. By equipping individuals with skills to create websites, sell products online, or test software, we foster self-reliance and inclusive economic growth. The training opportunities at AIPI go beyond technical skills—they represent a pathway to confidence, independence, and meaningful contributions to the digital economy. Despite Rwanda’s strong ranking in the Global Gender Gap Index 2022, a significant gender gap remains in the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) sector. Women face barriers in access to education, opportunities, and employment in this critical field. Rwanda is also a host country for over 130,000 refugees, many of whom are women and children. Refugees often encounter considerable challenges in accessing education, skills training, and employment, particularly in technical fields like ICT. This intersection of gender and refugee status underscores the importance of targeted interventions to ensure no one is left behind. Our project addresses these challenges by fostering cooperation within the ICT sector and ensuring that vulnerable groups, including women and refugees, can access opportunities in the digital economy. Building on the success of an earlier initiative, our goal is to strengthen digital skills among marginalized communities and create long-term, sustainable employment opportunities in the ICT sector. This is achieved through tailored training programs focused on equipping individuals with essential ICT skills vital for the modern workforce. By empowering vulnerable groups with digital skills and resources, AIPI FOR ALL helps individuals build sustainable futures. This approach not only benefits participants by opening new career opportunities but also contributes to Rwanda's broader goal of economic development and gender equality in the ICT sector. As more women and refugees gain the skills needed to participate in the digital economy, Rwanda moves closer to achieving a more inclusive, equitable, and digitally proficient workforce.

  • Employment The employment service for the vulnerable community is an initiative aimed at fostering inclusion in Rwanda’s labor market by integrating underrepresented groups into the ICT sector. This project brings together stakeholders, including the government, private sector, and NGOs, to create employment opportunities through targeted training programs that equip individuals with essential ICT skills. The initiative focuses on vulnerable populations, including women, refugees, and economically disadvantaged individuals. Women often face barriers to entry in the ICT industry due to societal norms and limited access to training. By providing skill-building programs, the project empowers them to participate in the digital economy. Refugees, who struggle with legal and logistical employment constraints, benefit from structured training that enhances their employability. Similarly, individuals from low-income backgrounds receive job-oriented ICT training to secure stable employment. A key component of the program is skill development aligned with industry needs, covering computer literacy, data entry, digital communication, and basic programming. Mentorship and career guidance from industry experts help participants navigate career pathways and connect with potential employers, improving job prospects. The long-term goal is to establish a sustainable model for integrating vulnerable populations into Rwanda’s digital workforce. By providing relevant skills and employment opportunities, the initiative promotes economic empowerment and social inclusion. Strengthened collaboration among stakeholders ensures that participants not only secure jobs but also achieve career growth, fostering a more inclusive and dynamic workforce. Ultimately, this project demonstrates that with the right support, vulnerable individuals can thrive in the ICT industry, contributing to a more equitable and prosperous future.

  • Outsourcing In Deutschland herrscht bekanntlich ein eklatanter Fachkräftemangel in der IT-Branche. In Ruanda hingegen gibt es viele hochqualifizierte Fachkräfte, die diesen Mangel kompensieren können. Deshalb helfen wir deutschen und ruandischen Unternehmen beim Matchmaking und vermitteln Outsourcing-Projekte.

Partnerschaft der Verbände

  • Wissensaustausch Die beiden Verbände BITMi und ICT Chamber haben den Partnerschaftsgedanken des Projekts verinnerlicht. Deshalb tauschen sich die verschiedenen Mitarbeiter und Mitarbeiterinnen regelmäßig aus um voneinander zu lernen. Das tun wir nicht nur digital, sondern führen auch regelmäßig Job Shadowings durch: Mitarbeiter und Mitarbeiterinnen der Chamber besuchen den BITMi in Deutschland und umgekehrt. So garantieren wir eine enge Zusammenarbeit. Zudem finden regelmäßig Trainings und Weiterbildungen statt um immer auf dem Laufenden zu sein.

  • Events Verschiedene Einzelveranstaltungen im Projekt sollen bei allen Teilnehmern und Teilnehmerinnen für vielschichtige und nachhaltige Lerneffekte sorgen. Beispielsweise sind geplant: - Info-Sessions dienen als Instrument, um Unternehmen zu erreichen, die Partnerschaften eingehen und internationale Märkte erkunden möchten. - Community Breakfasts bringen IT-Unternehmen persönlicher Atmosphäre zusammen, um Wissen und Erfahrungen bei einer Tasse Kaffee (oder Tee) auszutauschen. - Networking- und PR-Veranstaltungen bieten den Rahmen für IT-Fachleute und Unternehmen, um Ideen zu entwickeln, Erfahrungen zu teilen und Möglichkeiten der Zusammenarbeit zu erkunden.
