TRANSFORMING FUTURES BY EMPOWERING MINDS WITH DIGITAL SKILLS
06 Jan, 2026
The Tech Upskill for All Program is a transformative initiative empowering vulnerable and underrepresented communities with practical digital and technical skills. By focusing on people living with disabilities, vulnerable women, refugees, and other marginalized groups, the program ensures that no one is left behind in Rwanda’s rapidly growing digital economy.
Implemented through a strategic collaboration between Bundesverband IT-Mittelstand e.V. (BITMi) and the Rwanda ICT Chamber, and delivered by a consortium including kLab, FabLab, and the Digital Business Institute (DBI), the program combines international expertise with local knowledge. Participants benefit from hands-on training, mentorship, and real world project experience, equipping them with skills directly relevant to today’s job market.
On Friday, 5th December,2025, the program celebrated a major milestone at kLab and FabLab Kigali. Graduates who concluded their training in Kigali site showcased remarkable growth and creativity through diverse projects from web development and software solutions to digital fabrication. Certificates were awarded to all participants, with top performers recognized for their dedication and excellence. The event also brought employers closer to the graduates, fostering direct pathways to employment and internships.
The TechUpskill graduation, organized for talents trained by the Digital Business Institute (DBI), took place from December 9 to 12, 2025. The program celebrated the successful completion of training for 180 beneficiaries, who gained valuable skills in digital literacy, business development, career guidance, and e-commerce. Graduation ceremonies were held across four districts Nyagatare, Rwamagana, Musanze, and Muhanga, where participants had been undergoing their intensive training.
.

Leading up to the graduation, two days of hackathons across five districts allowed participants to demonstrate the skills they had acquired. The projects were inspiring and innovative, ranging from software solutions to entrepreneurial ventures. Several graduates secured jobs, internships, or launched their own businesses, partnering with companies such as Framinga, Dreamiers Africa, and House Major. These tangible outcomes underscored the program’s impact in bridging training with real-world opportunities.
By equipping vulnerable groups with practical, relevant skills, the Tech Upskill Program actively contributes to Rwanda’s vision of a knowledge-based economy. It promotes economic empowerment for women, rural communities, and refugees, ensuring inclusive access to technological progress.
Get ready for 2026! The second cohort of the Tech Upskill for All program offered by AIPI for All project is on the horizon, bringing new opportunities to join Rwanda’s growing digital economy. With hands-on training, supportive partnerships, and focused outreach, this initiative is committed to ensuring that everyone including vulnerable groups can access the skills and opportunities needed to thrive in the tech world. Stay tuned and be part of this journey toward inclusive innovation!
