AIPI For All, Hanga Hub Rubavu

We proudly celebrated the graduation of the Champions of Change cohort at Hanga Hub Rubavu, a moment months in the making, and one that signals the beginning of something much bigger.

Earlier this year, the Access International Partnership in IT (AIPI For All), a joint initiative between the Rwanda ICT Chamber and the German IT association Bundesverband IT-Mittelstand e.V. (BITMi), reached a significant milestone with the graduation of its first Champions of Change cohort at Hanga Hub Rubavu.

The graduates successfully completed the Digital Literacy Training delivered by the Digital Business Institute (DBI) under the Rwanda ICT Chamber–BITMi partnership. Their achievement demonstrates the impact of accessible digital skills training, strong partnerships, and a shared commitment to empowering young people with opportunities for growth and employment in the digital economy.

Graduating the Champions of Change

Set against the scenic backdrop of Hanga Hub Rubavu, the graduation ceremony honored the first cohort to complete the Digital Literacy Training delivered by the Digital Business Institute (DBI) on behalf of the Rwanda ICT Chamber and BITMi through the AIPI For All project.

What the Training Covered

Digital Literacy Training, implemented by DBI, was designed to equip participants with practical digital skills, from foundational computer literacy to tools that open doors to employment, entrepreneurship, and active participation in a connected society.

These graduates are not just technically upskilled; they are positioned as agents of change within their communities. The “Champions of Change” designation carries real weight: these individuals are expected to carry their new knowledge forward, inspire peers, and contribute to a wider culture of digital fluency in their districts.

Partners Who Made It Possible

What made the graduation ceremony especially meaningful was the presence of partners and stakeholders who represent the broader ecosystem of support that surrounds these young changemakers.

Representatives from the Rwanda National Police and Rubavu District were in attendance a powerful signal that digital inclusion is understood here not merely as a technology agenda, but as a pathway toward community reintegration, employability, and lasting positive impact for young people who need it most.

Their continued support ensures that graduates leave with more than a certificate. They leave with a network, a community of accountability, and institutional partners who are invested in their next chapters.
