<\/p>\nRwanda ICT Chamber together with The German Bundesverband IT-Mittelstand e.V. (BITMi) through Digital Business Institute, a certifying and capacity-building arm of the chamber has initiated a certification program that mainly aims at defining high-quality standards for IT companies in Rwanda, increases customers\u2019 satisfaction, encourages best practice and improves investment security in the Rwandan IT Industry.<\/p>\n
The Government of Rwanda has been putting efforts into strengthening the ICT sector by investing in ICT infrastructure development to enable service delivery. According to the report released by the UN and World Economic Forum showed that Rwanda has future potential in the ICT sector, for instance, UN referred to the ICT sector as a super-charging factor of Rwanda\u2019s economy and in 2015 Rwanda was awarded 1st place in the continent for ICT development by the World Economic Forum.<\/p>\n

The Quality seal program will assist to go in line with the government’s ambition of becoming a regional hub for top-tier capacity building in ICT by working on trust seals. This program focuses on providing some of the advanced required skills and standards needed to be able to compete at the international level.<\/p>\n

This is a joint program being conducted by AIPI, GIZ e-commerce Project (PeCi) and the capacity-building arm of the chamber (Digital business institute (DBI). So far, 5 e-commerce companies have been awarded the Quality Seal… The goal is to certify at least 150 companies by the end of 2023. Lessons learned from onboarded companies include the fact that this seal is going to improve their image and increase trust among clients, which in return is going to boost sales.<\/p>\n
The certification program is aiming at strengthening the competitiveness of individual companies and the whole sector towards Clients and Investors as well as elevating the ICT industry standards to the regulatory framework requirements.
\nOn the other hand, this program aims to identify gaps in the sector to address them with tailor-made capacity-building offers and training.<\/p>\n

This program follows a pilot program that happened in 2019 where companies with best business practices were awarded the \u201cRwanda Tech Seal\u201d. Quality Seal is going to be a game changer for companies aiming to improve on their services, to compete on international level as well as attracting investors.<\/p>\n
